Where Do I Begin?

here Do I Begin IF I'M READY To Live a  Healthier Lifestyle?                                        

             

            Most people believe the way to begin living healthier is to get on a crash diet followed by a three week vigorous exercise regimen and expect miraculous changes.  There is no quick fix to the attainment of what is to be a lifetime change!  To get started on your quest to live a well balanced, mental, social, fit, spiritual and more healthier lifestyle you must first ask yourself this one important question.
            “Am I ready to do what it takes to carry out this JOURNEY for the duration of my LIFE?”
            If you are not able to answer this question with a solid yes, you are not yet ready for your mission. Many are tired of hearing themselves repeat every week “I am going to begin living better” but never get around to it.  Once you feel it in your gut that you are truly ready to take the big plunge to the other side, then here are a few basic steps to get you on the road to the beginning of your Life Changing Journey.
            You need only possess these 3 skills; Desire, Power, Faith!   A good friend of mine once said “you’re never really tired until you become tired of being tired’!  
PUTTING TOGETHER YOUR ACTION PLAN:
 COMMIT:  Commit to yourself that you will take full responsibility for your well being from this day forth! Be your own coach; Commit yourself, Motivate yourself, Envision yourself and most importantly take Accountability.  If you don’t, who will?
JOURNAL:  Get your new “Wellness” journal, where you will begin to write any and everything that pertains to your wellness, whether it be mentally, physically, emotionally, spiritual, day to day moods, activities, illness, and or workout routines.  Design your book as you see fit. It can be organized by categories, color coded, labels, or whatever suits your fancy.
MISSION:  Write out your overall wellness mission statement.  What is your ultimate goal for wanting to be more physically active, health aware, spiritually connected and other things you consider to fall under your wellness for you regimen?  
GOAL SETTING:   
 a)  List all your goals
b)  Once you’re done, now put them into categories
 c)  Under each category arrange each goal under its proper column
d)  Prioritize each goal as follows: 
        1= not emergency
         2= been pending.... need to get to asap 
          3= can’t wait... need to be all over this one!
 PLANNING:  Now review your likes, habits and personal traits.  Use these as tools in understanding what type of wellness regimen will best suit you.  For instance, you may discover that you are highly motivated to travel and you enjoy watching movies.  Perhaps riding a bike or watching an exercise video may work best for you. 
RESEARCH:   Write out  at least 2 things you can do to get more information on each of these categories (ex. social life- ‘read Time Out magazine’) this will assist you in further steps.

MOTIVATION:  Get to know YOU better!  This will make your Journey flow easier.  List at least 3 of each of the following:
 What do your know motivates you to get going?  (dancing, making money ect.) 
 What activities brings you joy? 
 What people in your life bring you joy?
 What type of environment is most productive for you in different situations? (ex. You may say; I prefer to be by the beach to meditate.”  “I like exercising outdoors”, “I rather holistic heath options.”  Be as specific as possible.
SCHEDULE:   Make a clear, realistic schedule to show the days you will work towards each goal.  Be sure to set time of day, duration, location and all specifics prior to the day of execution.
TOOLS N TOYS:  Everyone likes to shop for something new for an exciting occasion.  Choosing to live healthier is very exciting.  Therefore take yourself out and get yourself something that will help encourage you to work on your goals.  (ex. Sneakers, book, music, new dishes, journal, plant, vitamins, etc.)
SHARE THE JOY:  Be sure to tell your closest friends and family that you are prepared to change your life and express your excitement about doing so.  Believe it or not your loved ones will automatically become your strongest support either verbally or physically.  Don’t be surprised when you suddenly seem to become the wellness expert for your loved ones!
You are now on your way. Live your life to the fullest while feeling vibrant and rejuvenated!  Remember always that staying fit and living healthy is a way of Life! Have good energy and progress!

You first understand that you must treat this goal as any other goal you have put into your life.  You begin with the thought and then you steadily envision yourself living and feeling the way you want.
